A Nice Story…An Ice Story!

.
Eagle River is a small town not far from Lac du Flambeau, where my family took us on a fishing vacation once in the 50's.

They don't let hot women or coffee cups in there. As Vinnie Antonelli said to Crystal in My Blue Heaven, "You could melt all of this stuff."

I enjoyed reading about this, Greg. Do they ever vary the architecture of it?

Judy, they say that it's different every year. If you look closely at the pictures on their web site, it looks like three different buildings, probably from different years, rather than different aspects from the same year. I suspect it got started years ago because there are many, many lakes in that area, and they probably had a big trade in cutting winter ice for the ice houses in the big cities. So, cutting a few thousand extra blocks would be no big deal for them!
