Lil' Bud

Posted by Hello

Alas, Brenda reports the demise of the beloved if rebellious hamster, Little Bud. Bud was the subject of a little post here a few weeks ago.

In consolation, let us reflect that the purpose of all living creatures' life on earth is to prepare for Heaven. Hamsters die young because, unlike humans, they are already so nice that they don't need as much time to get ready as we do. And, they don't have Medicare or prescription drug benefits, either.

In fact, Bud has beat the Pope to heaven, so maybe he'll get a good spot.

    Thanks Greg.

I've been a snivelling mess. Its pretty dumb to get attached to a hamster!

Brenda, not dumb at all. Nature makes them look cute to us, so that we will
take care of them. That also triggers our "love" response, so we become attached. I can't even think of Lacy dying without choking up!

    I completely understand, and sympathize.

For a little rebel, Bud had a heart that was all... well... hamster!

Greg- Glad you're back, was getting a little worried!

Brenda- So sorry about your Bud. I agree with Greg, not dumb at all!
I once bawled my eyes out over a goldfish. granted it was Fred and I'd had him for 8 years! Used to catch him and lift him out of the water so I could pet him (Parents wouldn't let me have a dog or cat or hamster even!) It's amazing poor Fred lived as long as he did!
Sometimes my dad would walk into the room and I'd jump and drop Fred on the floor! Poor little guy. I miss him. *sniff, sniff*
