Fonda Declines To Press Charges
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Police said they arrested a man for spitting on two-time Academy Award-winning actress Jane Fonda during a book-signing stop in Kansas City Tuesday night.
Fonda, who is now very old at 67, was in town hawking her new book and new movie.
At about 9 p.m., police said 54-year-old Michael A. Smith, who had been waiting in line for about 90 minutes, passed a book to Fonda and then spit a large amount of tobacco juice into her face.
Smith is a Vietnam veteran. And my hero.

I heard about this and all I can say is that I feel nothing but pity for that poor woman. She knows she was a stupid moronic adolescent.
Still, I don't recall any apologies.
She deserves it in my book.

Stew, you mentioned "book". I wonder what book Mike Smith was handing to her when he discharged his tobacco juice upon her visage... Disgusting habit, chewing tobacco.
Knowing her, she probably had her big mouth open to praise Ho Chi Minh when... sploosh!
Jane is not going to press charges, but the cops are.
