Newsweek To The Toilet

Newsweek now "apologizes" that its sensational, infamous story about U.S. military people putting the Koran in the toilet in Guantanamo was not true.

It amounts to "Never mind", after causing riots, death and promises of a jihad.

There can be only one response: Newsweek To The Toilets. Every week.

But I love my Newsweek! It's the only way I can keep up with everything that's going on in the world...or all the stuff that's not really going on, but they think it will make a good story so...

Are you trying to tell me that the media doesn't always tell it lie it is?

    Gasp! Shock! Horror!

Anyway I think it'd plug up my toliet and then I'd have to call a plumber and that's a bother.

Eerie. That was supposed to be "tell it like it is" but perhaps "lie" is more fitting? :)

I honestly think there might have been a little "government convincing" them to back off this story.

Meredith, I like Newsweek too, but I think they let sensationalism rule once too often. "Lie" is an interesting typo! Brenda, I think that you may be right, especially if there is no documented support for the story.

Even the afghan president said it was not all or only Newsweek's fault. Extremists used it of course.

And Newsweek wasn't all wrong: The Red Cross and Amnesty International spoke of more allegations.
