Alabama - Haven for ENGLISH?!

The story is that Alabama may soon be required by a judge to give driver's exams only in English, instead of the 12 other languages it has used since 1998.

The big deal here is that Alabama will have to find enough English speaking Alabamans to grade the tests. Not a given, I think.

12 languages?? No more Swahili Driver's License tests? Things will never be the same.

hehe Yep! Where they really need that English rule is New York City: you have to get your taxi cab driver to stop at Seven Eleven so you can get a translator!

Too funny, Greg. They should make all those foreigners learn English before they send them out in cars on our streets anyway!

    Absolutely, Kenju!

Would I drive in Japan, knowing only "arrigato goziamashita"? No way.

Well, actually I did. That's where I learned to say 私は残念である in Japanese ("I'm sorry") (gomen nasai). Many, many times.
